Narrow gorge ca. 6 km E in a straight line from the center of the city of Jiangda (Gyamda).
Logged Picea forest, now dominated by Betula. Slopes and meadows; slopes with numerous, scattered limestone boulders and diverse herbaceous flora in organically rich, dark soil and with deep moss layer in many places.

Cap 5-15 (20) cm in diam., convex to convex-applanate, orange-red, margin appendiculate, hymenophore surface gray, becoming brownish to brown when injured; tube grayish, up to 13 mm in depth; stipe 8-20 X 2-5 cm, subcylindrical to attenuate upwards, surface covered with dark brown squamules, basal part often bluish to blue; context of cap white, becoming brownish when injured but basal context of stipe with bluish tinge.
