Cap 5-7 cm in diam., convex, gray to brownish gray, center with more brownish tinge, small or finely rugulose, margin becoming very pale bluish when injured; context of cap dirty white, unchanging. Hymenophore gray with very pale olivaceous tinge, up to 1.5 cm thick; tube concolorous with hymenophore surface; stipe 10 -15 X 1-3 cm, attenuate upwards, base clavate to narrowly clavate, surface dirty white, not bluish, covered with dark brown or blackish squamules; contest of stipe dirty white, unchanging, but becoming pale pinkish or brownish near the base when cut.
