Xizang (Tibet): Mangkang (Markam) Xian. Between Mangkang and the Jinsha Jiang on highway 318, along the Xi Qu (Xi River). Cut over remnant Picea forest on slope with scattered shrubs of Betula, Caragana, Cotoneaster and Rosa. 29°44'28"N, 98°40'51"E; 3600-3650 m.
In open. Petals abaxially bluish at base, adaxially white; anthers yellow.
