Sichuan: Rangtang (Zamtang) Xian. N of the city of Rangtang (Zamtang) on road to Aba Xian, then E on road to Zhong Rangtang along Maierdi-anma (river), then S along stream ca. half way to Chotuo. Broad, flat valley with a network of meandering rocky streams and marshy places, adjacent meadow, slopes with shrubs and outcropping ledges. 32°15'23"N, 101°11'39"E; 3570-3730 m.
On hummocks and ant mounds in meadow and between shrubs. Petals green; fruit green.
