Sichuan: Xiaojin Xian. SW of the city of Xiaojin at Shalong Xiang. Remnant Larix-Quercus forests on slope; margins of cultivated fields and disturbed areas along streams. 30°57'10"N, 102°17'48"E; 2903 m.
Open slope and under shrubs. Involucral bracts purple or blackish purple; past flowering. Cited in protologue of Saussurea xiaojinensis, Phytotaxa 170(3): 147-152. 2014.
