Alpine meadows with seepages and shrub thickets of Potentilla, Salix and dwarf Rhododendron.

Shrubs ca. 80 cm tall; young stems and petioles red; leaves adaxially dark green, abaxially lighter; fruit light red. Scattered throughout the area.
