Ponerorchis chusua (D.Don) Soó

Yunnan: Xianggelila (Zhongdian) Xian. Haba Xue Shan (Haba Snow Mountain). N facing slope near Yügutu. Abies- Picea-Larix forest with several species of mixed evergreen Rhododendron, including R. arboreum (mostly stump sprouts - original trees cut for firewood) and R. wardii. 27°22'40"N, 100°4'36"E; 3780-3930 m.
Near stream in meadow like area near Juniperus. Stem greenish purple; leaves green, margins purple; tepals purple; lip pale purple with dark purple spots, throat with two dark spots at opening. Initially identified as Chusua pauciflora (Lindley) P. F. Hunt by Paul Ormerod, 20 August 2001.
