On ground in forest of Abies and Rhododendron at 4100 m.Pileus 10-15.5 cm in diam., convex to applanate, dull brown, densely covered with first dirty white to pale brownish to grayish, conical warts, 2-4 mm wide, 2-4 mm tall, when mature volval remnants becoming dirty white to gray to brown; margin striate (R=8/60, 10/60, 10/80, 12/80). Stipe 10-14 x 1.5-3 cm, white, covered with squamules; upper surface of annulus cream colored to yellowish, under surface whitish. Bulb subglobose to ovoid, dirty white, upper margin with a short limb. Context white unchanging. With slides, and line drawings.
