On ground in forest of Abies and Rhododendron at 4000 m.Pileus 5-6 cm in diam., first dull (dark) brown, then brown to brownish, disc brownish gray to darker; at inner end of striations on pileal margin with a dark brown or blackish zone. Lamellae free, white to grayish; edge grayish to brownish. Stipe 9-11 x 1-1.5 cm, dirty white to brownish or grayish, densely covered with brown to grayish brown squamules. Context white, unchanging. Volva 4-5 x 2-2.5 cm, thin, outer surface gray with brownish tinge; inner surface dirty white to grayish or brownish. With line drawings.
