Pholiota squarrosa (Weigel) P. Kummer
Sichuan: Xiangcheng Xian. Sichuan-Yunnan border area. North side of Daxue Shan between Zhongdian and Xiangcheng. Mixed Abies-Larix-Picea-Juniperus forest with large Rhododendron and open talus slopes and meadows. 28°35'38"N, 99°50'49"E; 4100-4300 m.
On rotten wood in forest of Abies at 4000 m. Pileus 5-10 cm in diam., convex, dry, yellowish brown to ochraceous, paler (almost whitish) towards margin, covered with (sub) reflexed, brown squamules. Lamellae pale brown. Stipe 7-15 x 0.8-2 cm, dirty white or cream colored above annulus, cream colored below annulus, lower part covered with reflexed, brownish squamules. Context pale yellow to yellow. Taste mild. With line drawings.
