On ground under Abies and Rhododendron at 4000 m.Pileus 4-8 cm in diam., convex, dry, (sub) viscid when wet, dark gray to almost blackish, covered with grayish squamules; Context dirty white to pale violet. Lamellae first brownish violet, then violet brown. Stipe 4-5 x 1-2 cm; context violet. Base of stipe abruptly swollen, subglobose; context white. Cortina white to grayish. Taste mild.
