Xizang (Tibet): Mangkang (Markam) Xian: Markam City. Hills on W side of Zhongyen River ca. 10 km N of the city of Mangkang (Markam). Heavily grazed Kobresia and Carex meadows with scattered islands of Picea, Juniperus and colonial Rhododendron. 29°44'43"N, 98°34'41"E; 4010-4160 m.
Gregarious in soil under Picea sp., in Picea stand in alpine meadow, ~4109 m. Pileus 17-33 mm diam., hemispherical to ±convex, margin incurved slightly or straight, sulcate, slightly pellucid-striate when expanded; surface tacky, lubricous when moistened, slightly shiny, smooth, glabrous; reddish brown (7-8F5-7) to brownish (5-6E-F5-6), developing cream colored blotches with moisture loss. Context whitish, to ;5 mm thick. Lamellae adnate, crowded, occasionally once-forked, moderately broad, breadth to 4 mm, white to off-white; edges concolorous. Stipe 30-51 X 9-19 mm, central, terete, subclavate, solid; surface smooth, glabrous, dull, dry, scantly appressed-fibrillose towards base; white, bruising slightly brownish where handled, base rounded. Odor none. Taste mild, indistinct.
