Yunnan: Lushui Xian: Luzhang Zheng. Just below the Fengxue Yakou (the pass between Lushui and Pianma), between km 54 and 58, E side of Gaoligong Shan. Thicket. bamboo-Rhododendron thicket. 25°58'23"N, 98°41'15"E; 3125 m.
Growing on steep bank along road in sun. S-facing. humus. Base rock: granite. Slope 30-60°. Shrub ca. 2.5 m tall. Flowers pink. Occasional.
